Carol asks:
Would insurance cover dental implants? What if you had a specific oral disease? If not, what are other payment options for this procedure, as it’s quite expensive? Thanks.
Hi Carol,
There are some insurance companies that cover dental implants. In addition, you have to keep in mind that there often times are other aspects of implant therapy that may be covered: extraction, bone grafting, abutment placement & delivery of the implant supported crown.
Furthermore, there are 3rd party payment options. We have worked with 3 different companies that offer interest free financing up to one year for implants!
When considering the cost of dental implants, it is good to keep in mind the tremendously high success rates of implants. Whereas tooth supported crown & bridge is 50% successful for 7-8 years, dental implants (when placed by an adequately trained oral surgeon/periodontist using a quality implant system) have a 96%-98% success rate for over 30years!
This means that even if you opt for a less expensive option than dental implants now, ultimately the odds are you will be paying a lot more as the years go on.
