Dear Patrick,

I assume you mean eating right after an implant surgery. In general, I instruct my patients to eat softer and blander food for the first 2 weeks after implant surgery.

It is during this first 2 weeks that the gum tissue needs to heal and make sure that tissue stays closed or heals correctly.

By eating softer foods and foods that aren't going to irritate the gums, proper healing is ensured.
