The body does not reject the material used for dental implants. There could be problems: 1)if the bone quality is poor, 2) the bone is over heated while preparing the site for the implant, 3) implant is under excess function, 4)infection present in the bone next to the implant, 5) poor oral hygiene as a implant is more suspectable to gum disease than a natural tooth.
An implant could fail after it is placed if the patient's home care is not ideal and yes if the implant is placed with forces hitting it in a obtuse angle it could fail, implants like forces to be placed in the center of the implant.

Does the body reject an implant
The main reasons for implant failure are patient health, smoking, insufficient bone, poor implant positioning, over loading of the implant and or poor maintenance. Titanium is not rejected by the body. Most problems I see, have to do with maintenance of these implants. Any dental crown or implant requires increased attention to maintenance. This is the main reason for failure.I do not place implants in patients who will not commit to this.

No. Dental implants can not be rejected by body as they are very bio-compatible. If an implant does not work it is usually because of infection or perhaps lack of bone integration that is required for success. The reason for such complications may be technique of placement, type of implant placed, type of bone, patient health, and post operative instructions. All these factors are usually considered and discussed by the surgeon placing the implants.
