George asks:
My dental implant surgeon say that I need a sinus lift to graft bone in the upper right canine area and the area behind the left canine to place implants. Does this make sense? I read that sinus lifts are only done in the posterior with molars? Any thoughts?

Sinus Lift for the Upper Canine Area?
George,
Usually the maxillary sinus goes anterior to the pre molar area. I have never seen it go that far forward. Ask your surgeon to show you the CT scan or x ray of this.

Sinus Lift
Hi George
The area behind the canine, where your premolar teeth are, may require sinus grafting. The maxillary sinus frequently extends anteriorly to the second premolar position.
Ask your surgeon to show the film and planned implant position to you, for appreciation of the sinus position.

sinus lift for canine
Hello
Indeed, it is unlikely that sinus lift is required for placement of implant in canine site. Usually, it becomes a concern from second premolar and molar regions.
