Hi Maria,

In general, there are few contraindications for placing dental implants. Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease resulting in chronic inflammation of the joints. It can also cause inflammation of the tissue around the joints due to a breakdown in the body’s immune system.

I am not aware that there is any documentation which would prevent you from having dental implants. However, certain medications might interfere with the healing process, and should be discussed with your dentist, and your physician prior to having dental implants placed. Dental implants provide a wonderful service – and may greatly improve your quality of life.
