Steve asks:
I am going to have all my upper teeth removed and mini dental implants put in. What is the appropriate length of time to wait once all the teeth are extracted to have the mini dental implants put in?
Do you feel like a dummy when it comes to dental implants? Don't worry. We can help. Below are popular posts for those just starting out with implants.
Mini implants
Hi
My first recommendation is NOT to have mini implants placed. They are associated with high risks of failure, fractures, and poor longevity. Conventional implants on the other hand offer much better and more successful alternative. Depending on the situation, immediate implants can be placed on day of extraction or in delayed fashion after a 2-3 month healing. Your surgeon can make the right recommendation that is appropriate for you.
I hope this is helpful

I would agree that mini implants are not a good option, especially in the upper jaw. Tradtional type of implants can be done at the extraction site, but this depends on your volume of bone present. Look for a DDS that has a fellow to the AAID or Diplomate to ABOI. You would get a better feel for what would be best for your mouth.
