Tom asks:
Hello, I am 34 years old and missing both lateral incisors. I had a consultation and and basically have no bone (and or ridgy bone?). The cost for grafting and two dental implants is running about $17,000. This does not include an abutment and crown. This seems very steep to me, and something I definitely cannot afford do at this time. Does anyone have any suggestions or alternatives to my situation? I was considering trying the Snap on Smile in the meantime.

Missing Lateral Incisors: What are My Alternatives?
Tom,
That fee you were quoted is extremely high. I am saying that based on common fee's my colleagues charge. There are some great FDA approved implants that are 3mm that might involve less grafting if any. Find a dentist that performs a CT scan and have it done right as implants are the best option for this.

I completely agree with Dr.Tischler. That quote is pretty high. Did that dentist use 3D imaging to evaluate the exact amount of remaining bone you have in that area? You could possibly be a candidate for mini implants, which is not nearly as expensive. Your other options to replace the missing lateral incisors are bonded porcelain teeth (Maryland bridge). You have mentioned snap on smile. It will definitely help to enhance your smile, but it is not a long-term solution. I am sure you know Implants are always the best options to replace missing teeth. I hope this helps.
