Kaz Asks:
What is the recommended period of time after an extraction for an implant to be placed? No infection present, and no grafting involved at the time of extraction.
Thank you.
Hi Kaz,
There is not one recommended extraction implant protocol. There are currently 3 treatment plans: immediate, early and late. It is site and case dependent what a dentist will recommend.
What is very important is that anterior extraction sockets or sockets with thin buccal bone plates be evaluated for the need of a socket bone graft placement to preserve the ridge height and ridge width.
