Philadelphia, known as The City of Brotherly Love, is the fifth-most-populous city in the United States, with a population of over 1.5 million. Philadelphia has a rich history. It was a meeting place for the Founding Fathers of the US, and the Declaration of Independence was signed in Philadelphia on July 4, 1776. The Constitution was signed there on September 17, 1787. Given its important role in US history, it's no surprise that even today Philadelphia provides a huge array of museums, artistic venues and historical attractions. Most famous of course, is the Liberty Bell, but there is also much more to see. History buffs may want to check out the National Constitution Center, the world’s only museum dedicated to the U.S. Constitution. Another interesting site for literature fans, is the Edgar Allan Poe National Historical Site, the house where Poe wrote and published most of his gripping stories.
