Dental Bonding after Implants

0 votes
After spending an exorbitant amount of money for dental implants and a bridge, there is a space between tooth # 9 (implant) and 10 where the bridge starts.  Can I get dental bonding to close the space? I don't want to have the # 9 implant completely removed and replaced. If bonding won't work, what are some other options?

The space may be possible to close by changing the shape of the crown. However, bonding does not work on crowns that are already on an implant or part of a bridge.  Your restorative dentist can comment on this possibility.

If the space is present because the two teeth do not touch, then remaking the crown on tooth #9 is the simplest thing (bonding to porcelain to close a space can be done, but the repair is not very strong and can fail often).
If the space is in the triangle between the teeth at the gumline, that usually means that there is bone loss between the teeth, and the papilla disappears leaving a space that we call a "dark triangle".  If that is the case, modifying the shape of the two adjacent crowns so that they contact closer to the gum tissue can help solve the problem.
In either situation, it seems like a repair or a remake is necessary.
Talk to your dentist about it.
Good luck!
