Breast Cancer Survivor with a Root Canal in My Front Right Tooth

0 votes
I broke my front right tooth at age 10 in an accident. I had a crown that had to to have a root canal at age 30 when the root of the injured tooth died. I'm now 56. I had invasive breast cancer, right breast, 2 years ago. After mastectomy I am cancer free. I have never had any problem with the root canal that I was aware of, however I am concerned about the health risk of root canal. I have read that the root canal is a harbor for dangerous microbes that can feed tumor growth. What is the best way to replace a root canal in the aesthetic zone? Do you recommend a dental implant?

It seems that you have already made up your mind about the root canal tooth causing or feeding cancer growth.
I do not know where you get your reading material, but you should be cautious about not believing everything you read.
Go to a source of scholarly articles such as Pub Med and do your search there.  That is where the leading experts in their field research their information.
I doubt that you will find any research that shows any relation between root canal treated teeth and cancer.
Root canal teeth sometimes fail after years of success and need to be retreated or sometimes even extracted.
If there is another reason why you want to consider removing that tooth, fine, but do not do it because it has a root canal if there is nothing wrong with the root canal treatment itself
Good luck!.
