Is it better to cement a full upper fixed denture to the implants or screw them in?

I have 8 implants on the top and in the process of getting a fixed denture made.  I thought you screwed them in but my dentist wants to cement the denture to the implants.  I am worried that if I ever have to fix something in my mouth that it is easier to unscrew than
get something cemented out. Any advice?

Every dentist has his or her philosophy of treatment.  Some prefer to cement while others like screw retention.

The screw retained bridges allow for retreivability in case it needs to be removed.

You can cement a bridge with temporary cement, but itcan result in loosening prematurely or in cases where it is still very hard to remove them without some undesired damage.

If you are concerned about being able to remove the bridge, talk to your dentist and ask if you could have it screw retained.

Good luck!
