Just Got Two Implants: When Can I Smoke Again?

0 votes
I just got two implants in the lower jaw #23 and 25.  I just got them put in on February 8, 2011 and quit smoking the same day. When can I smoke again?  I smoke about eight to ten cigarettes a day. Will my implants fall out if I start smoking after the implants are infused in my jaw?  I know that takes about three to four months.

I am not sympathetic to your smoking because I have seen first hand the health problems that they will bring you, so I am going to try to discourage you from smoking.
The dental literature clearly shows that if you smoke you are more likely to have your implants fail.
Think of this as an opportunity to quit.
If you start smoking again, make sure you tell your implant surgeon.
Good luck!
